As you can probably see, I’m a little obsessed with baths. It’s because it’s my favorite way to wind down from a long day and my personal favorite self-care activity. I’m sharing 8 essentials for a blissful bath.

Candles
Candles are a MUST! They set the entire mood. I usually like unscented pillar candles and one or two scented ones. My favorite are selenite candle holders. When you place a tealight inside, it makes it look like the selenite is glowing from within. You can also use Himalayan salt candle holders. So perfect for a peaceful bath ambiance. I also love this floating lotus candle that sits atop the bathwater.
Crystals
I love having crystals around my bath at all times. Having something beautiful to look at makes bath time that much more special. The flicker of the candles makes them sparkle in the dark. I have quartz crystals and apophyllite clusters (my favorite). I also always have the selenite candle holders as well, just be sure not to immerse them in water because they are water soluble and will crumble.
Scent
I always want my bath experience to include beautiful fragrance. If you opt not for scented candles, you can choose a fragrant bubble bath or bath bomb. Sometimes I turn on my essential oil diffuser and mix in some oils that my mood needs (lavender or peppermint for relaxation, chamomile or rose for stress relief).
For this bath I chose to burn palo santo sticks. They are used for energy cleansing, purifying, and inspiring. I love the ritual of it, especially for a relaxing bath time.
Music / Book
Optional of course, but I usually like to put on some chill out music or a playlist I’ve made for the bath; something relaxing or something that makes me feel good. Sometimes I will turn on meditation music and use my time in there to meditate. I also love guided meditations or affirmations. Reading a book is also something I’ll do, and having a bath caddy makes it easy.
Bath Caddy / Tray
Getting a bath caddy has made bathtime so much easier. There’s a place for a drink and plenty of other items. My bath doesn’t have a whole lot of room or shelf space so this makes it perfect to read a book or set my drink. Of course I have crystals on top as well, because you can never have too many crystals 🙂
Bubbles / Bath soak
Of course bubbles are a must. My favorites are Lush bath bombs, but for a detoxifying bath I’ll use Himalayan salt to soak in. Recently I found these Himalayan salt chunks for the bath. I love them because they look like crystals. Soaking in the salt helps draw out toxins and cleanses the skin. Every week I take a couple Epsom baths as well (awesome for sore muscles).
Fresh Flowers / Plants
I love having fresh flowers in my home. They just add something that no other decor piece can. I’ll bring them into the bathroom not just for the aesthetic element, but sometimes I’ll use the rose petals in the bath (rose petals have skin benefits). But what I highly recommend is keeping a plant in your bathroom, (actually your whole home!) Plants are natural humidifiers and increase oxygen levels in the home. They also remove harmful toxins from the air.
Drink
I always have cold water available to me during my bath, especially when it’s a hot bath. Make it even more refreshing by adding fresh fruit or mint. Today I added cucumber and lemon. Or if it’s Friday night, a glass of wine 😉
