This first styling idea is for those who appreciate modern minimalism with an edge of glamour. It’s perfect for styling coffee tables in living rooms that lean toward contemporary or eclectic interiors.
My favorite item in this styling idea is the snakeskin-patterned tray. It enhances visual interest of the coffee table by introducing subtle texture and pattern. I love the Jonathan Adler sculptural white face vessel. It’s so cool looking and adds an artistic flair. The black agate coasters with gold edging tie in with the candlesticks and add organic glamour. I used black taper candles with the gold candlestick holders for a bold look and I think they look great together.

This styling is more of a modern aesthetic with a balance of natural materials and luxury. Here I layered a mix of black and white candles, including designer votives, to create a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. I placed some white pillar candles in a chic zebra print tray. I often like to use books as decor. In this arrangement the books serve as a stylish platform. I always like to use crystals and stones in my decor to add a natural, organic element. I’ve included a beautiful selenite slab and placed a candle on top. There’s also a quartz crystal sitting on top of a cute little black box, which serves as functional decor as you can put any little things you need to hide away in the box. I think the black and white colored matchsticks are a really chic addition. For a pop of color, I included blush-pink peonies that also add a romantic vibe and balances the monochrome palette.

The mixing of books, natural crystals, and curated candles can create a chic coffee table look. The Diptyque candle under a glass cloche adds a layer of sophistication and elevates its presentation, and the large black candle adds depth and boldness to the arrangement, grounding the overall look with its darker hue. I added natural stone elements with the dark geode bookend and selenite stick. Stacked hardcover books create a layered base that reflects the theme of luxury and a love for natural design.

Here I assembled a black and white vignette on a side table. I love the clustered monochromatic look. I’ve layered two black and white abstract art prints in matching frames. Actually, the black marble isn’t a print, it was wrapping paper I found and thought would look beautiful framed! The brass lamp was a vintage find and I bought a round black lampshade for it. I also stacked two chic decorative boxes and added a stone bookend to tie it all together.

Here’s another similar book stacking idea, topped with a selenite candleholder and a tealight, a pretty lotus flower candle, and black agate coasters. All the items are contained in a black and white little tray.

This black Jonathan Adler face vase is the focal point of this simple coffee table styling. It would look beautiful with some white florals like tulips or roses. It sits on two glam coffee table books. I love the black-on-black look of the glossy black coffee table and leather black couch. Animal print black and white pillows line the couch and a large abstract canvas art piece hangs behind it to create a dramatic monochromatic look.

The vintage black candelabra was a great thrift find and gives this styling a moody glam look. The stacked coffee table books anchor the arrangement and provide visual weight and layering. The combination of black and white elements is chic and timeless. I also love the eclectic look this coffee table styling has with the candelabra.
