Today I’m going to share how I’ve been organizing my jewelry and beauty items with inexpensive thrifted vintage finds.
I love the look of having beautiful trinkets and accessories displayed on a vanity, but I don’t have the space for it all. I also didn’t want to stuff everything into drawers where I won’t see what I have, and then I often forget to wear my jewelry. This way it’s put away, yet everything is visible. (And, it keeps everything from getting dusty.)
When I open the doors to this cabinet, I feel blissful as I see all my favorite sparkly things.
The dresser/cabinet is also thrifted. I added tiny string lights to the ceiling to give it a nice glow when I open up the doors.
All the trays and dishes are vintage and found thrifted / secondhand. I love the beautiful style of vintage vanity trays and the ornate glass dishes, and they’re perfect for displaying and organizing all of my favorite pretty things.
So what should you look for while thrifting? I love to scour the glass and trinket aisles for anything that catches my eye. Glassware such as small bowls, plates, and tiny dishes, even pretty teacups are perfect to store makeup, jewelry, or anything you’d like. They are usually very inexpensive — most of my thrifted glassware was around a dollar.
Two favorites of mine are pink vintage pieces. I found a lovely pink ashtray that the thrift store worker said was from a big vintage Avon haul someone brought in. So cool. How cute it this? I also found this pretty pink wing type plate, and I’m obsessed.
I have just a little bit of a crystal and gem obsession, and I like to keep them organized in trays. My pink, blue, and purple crystal collection is displayed in my favorite tray I’ve ever found. I got it from an antique shop and it’s absolutely perfect for storing my crystals. The mirrored bottom makes everything sparkle even more.
To hang my necklaces, I decided to do something a little different than a typical jewelry holder. I found this vintage 1980s Haeger statue and I thought it would be perfect to hang longer necklaces from. I have a few of my favorites here.
I keep my nail polishes lined up and easy to see in another super cool ’80s looking tray I found.
I keep my favorite crystal bracelets on an amethyst.
If it wasn’t blatantly obvious already, my favorite decade is the 1980s and I love a lot of decor from that period. I have some beautiful vases from that era that I keep in here while I’m swapping out different vases and decor pieces in my home. I like to collect fashion jewelry from that time period as well.
Hope this inspired you to go take a thrifting trip and create yourself a beautifully organized space that brings you some joy!
